Don Rogers Statue

Don Rogers Statue Ownership Moved to the STFC Museum

Trust STFC, the supporters’ trust of Swindon Town Football Club, is pleased to confirm that it has donated the Don Rogers statue to the STFC Museum charity.

The statue, celebrating the club’s proudest moment, was commissioned in 2022 and unveiled in November 2024. Brought to life by renowned sculptor Alan Herriott, it honours the players and management who brought the League Cup back to Swindon in 1969.

The Museum charity was established in early 2023 to preserve the history and heritage of the club. Its mission is to create a space where fans and visitors can explore Swindon Town’s story – from its earliest days to its most recent triumphs – through exhibits, experiences, and collections of rare artefacts.

At a ceremony in front of the statue ahead of Saturday’s match against Harrogate, Trust Chair Neil Hutchings said:

“Alongside the purchase of the County Ground stadium from Swindon Borough Council, the commissioning of the Don Rogers statue is one of the most important projects which the Trust has delivered since it was formed in 2001. With a vision to create a world-class museum based at the County Ground, it seemed only fitting that the statue be passed into the safe hands of the Museum charity for the benefit of the whole community for many years to come.”

Representing the Museum, Chairman Paul Hedges added:

“On behalf of the STFC Museum and my fellow trustees, we’re pleased to take on the stewardship of the Don Rogers 1969 League Cup statue. It’s a fantastic tribute to the entire team and a proud moment in the club’s history. We’ll make sure it continues to be enjoyed by fans, and that the achievement is remembered by future generations.”
